Actor Jonathan Majors Arrested and Charged with Assault and Strangulation in New York City Domestic Dispute
Ant-Man and the Wasp Star Jonathan Majors Faces Legal Battle After Domestic Dispute Arrest
Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested on March 26, 2023, in New York City and charged with two misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault, second-degree aggravated harassment, second-degree harassment, and third-degree attempted assault, according to police.
The arrest was made after officers responded to a 911 call reporting an alleged domestic dispute at an apartment in the city's Chelsea neighborhood.
The police report states that a 30-year-old woman told police she had been assaulted and Majors was placed into custody without incident. The woman claimed Majors struck her face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear. She also alleged Majors grabbed her hand and put his hands on her neck, causing swelling, bruising, and substantial pain to her neck and hand.
Majors' attorney, Priya Chaudhry, denied the allegations and said evidence, including video footage from the vehicle where the alleged assault occurred, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode, and two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations, would prove the actor is innocent.
